The Municipality of Thessaloniki's Vafopouleio Cultural Centre presents the musical tribute “The ports of rebetiko” on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 20:00, in the Vafopouleio Cultural Centre's theatre.
The musical journey follows the routes of rebetiko through four stops: Smyrna, Piraeus, Syros and Thessaloniki. The narrative highlights the genre's connection with Markos Vamvakaris and Vasilis Tsitsanis, as well as Thessaloniki's living rebetiko tradition.
Kostas Voutyras is responsible for the musical direction and also performs on vocals and baglamas, while Panagiotis Koutsouras, Telis Lemonas and Pantelis Petridis complete the ensemble.
