EMST is organizing eight lectures for the general public from October 2026 to May 2027. Katerina Zacharopoulou is responsible for organizing, curating and presenting them, drawing on the Save the Dates audiovisual archive, works from the museum's collection and works by artists from different generations and cultural backgrounds.
The first encounter examines the relationship between humans and nature through art, from the Dolphin Fresco at Knossos to contemporary works. It focuses on environmental changes, ways of inhabiting the natural world and humanity's place in the Anthropocene.
The subsequent encounters cover sculpture, Balkan identity, melancholy and artificial intelligence, crafts, Greek art terminology, collective memory and the pressure for constant productivity. The lectures last 1.5–2 hours and take place at 18:00 in the Screening Room on the museum's mezzanine.
