Mano Aperta fundraising celebration at Plato's Academy Park
Mano Aperta is organising a fundraising celebration on Sunday, 18 October 2026, from 14:00 at Plato's Academy Park in Athens, with a collective kitchen, children's activities and live music. Entry is free, with optional voluntary contributions.
The celebration supports the self-organised solidarity kitchen Mano Aperta. According to the organisers, the group has been cooking every weekend for ten years, on streets and in parks in Metaxourgeio and Piraeus, supporting people who, they say, face state indifference and exclusion.
From midday, plans include a collective kitchen with vegan and other food options, children's activities and homemade lemonade. There will be a donation box and items available to support the kitchen.
The music programme runs from 16:00 to 23:00, featuring ZYGIA ALAI, TRYGONIA, RACHATI and TA REGKINIA. Bus route 051 is listed as a way to reach Plato's Academy Park.
